Steps to Create FTP Account in GoDaddy Through cPanel
GoDaddy is a best, cheapest hosting provider in the world, Once you register domain name with GoDaddy, you will be authorized to delete domain name, you can transfer one domain register to another, you can enable security options, you can do so many things with your domain name but today I’m going to discuss about how to create FTP account in GoDaddy through cPanel?
Every hosting provider gives an opportunity to upload files into their hosting accounts and it’s an easy to create FTP account in GoDaddy through cPanel so that file transfer happens very quickly.
Let me explain you step-wise so that you will feel more comfy with the process.
Step-1) To create FTP account in GoDaddy through cPanel, first log in to your Godaddy’s Account, Once you logged-in, now you need to click on your account’s top right corner of the page(As shown in the below image), in those options just click on a “My-Products” option.Once you click on a “My-Products” option, below you will get multiple options.(check we have “Domains, Web hosting, and WorkSpace Email”).
Step-2) After completion of the first step now you need to click on “Web Hosting->Manage” option
( I have hosted only one website so I will click on “blogkeep.com-> Manage” option if you have multiple websites hosted then you need to click on “Manage”, for which you want to create FTP account in GoDaddy through cPanel).
Step-3) After clicking on “Web Hosting->Manage” option you will get redirected to your cPanel account which contains all hosted account files related information. Just scroll down the page and in the bottom, you can find “FTP Accounts” option under Files tab (refer the image for clarification).
Now Click on “FTP Accounts” option
Step-4) Once you click on “FTP Accounts” option, you will be asked to “Add FTP Account” details in an FTP registration form(refer the image) to create FTP account in GoDaddy through cPanel account.
Here you have to provide all the required details such as
Log In: you need to enter a username for your FTP account ex- firstname.lastname@example.org
Password: Password for this FTP user
Directory: Here you need to give an access to the FTP user, if you want to give a user access to the entire account, yes you can do it here otherwise you can restrict FTP user to access only some folders.
Quota : How much space an FTP user has to be uploaded will be allotted here.
Step-5) Re-check your details and then click on “Create FTP Account” button to create FTP account in GoDaddy through cPanel.

FTP settings to upload your website
Before going to upload the files in cPanel, first, you need to have FTP account(make sure to follow above key insights to create FTP account).
then to use FTP account you need to have FTP client e.g. FileZilla, Dreamweaver, etc.
Follow the guide to install FileZilla software & file uploading process.
1) Make sure to download, install and launch FileZilla in your cPanel account
2) Now complete all the below details and then click on “Quickconnect” option
- Host: Domain name or IP Address
- Username: FTP account’s username
- Password: FTP account’s password
- Port: 21
3) Once you enter all the above details, you will be displayed a page there find “Remote site” area and then open your website’s root directory.
4) In your website’s root directory you will find “Local Site” folder, Local site folder contains all your website’s index files.
5) Now, to upload your website just select all your files and directories and drag them from the “Local Site” area into the “Remote Site” area.
it may take some time to upload website files because it depends on files size and internet connection. Yay, now your website is live and you can go to your domain name and see your website.
